Neko Nation Recap & Pictures

Wow! That's seriously all I can say. Neko Nation was a mixture of emotions. Nostalgia and excitement being the main two. I can easily say it was one of the best clubbing experiences I have ever been too.

Since this was Amine Sydney's first event we went all out. Giggling like school girls we all met up at Sex Kitten's (Stephanie's) place to have our make up professionally done by Andrew Bagala. With a little girl power we got into our corsets, skirts, shirts and lace cuffs.

After a few pictures (we're loveo's we know!) we were on our way! Pumping Spice Girls, Backstreet and other 90's favourites we psyched our selves up for a night of dancing. Driving down Sydney Street we saw a cosplayer dressed up as InuYasha. We knew we had found the right place.

On the outside it was a small warehouse. But inside was a wonderland of electro colours, blasting music and sexy cat girls. Flashing our tickets we made our way to the dance floor.

It was our first experience with Chiptunes so we bopped along to the music. We used this chance to soak up the environment and look at the adorable merch they were selling.

Next up was some J-Core that we pretty much delved into headfirst. Not knowing any of the songs we jumped around, laughed and had a great time.

This next DJ was my favourite of the night.  Sh¥ played a Disney set that we couldn't get enough of. It consisted of dance versions of Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Mulan and The Lion King. As soon as the first song filled everyone's ears the dance floor became oh so crowded. Girls and guys a like sang and danced to songs they had left behind in their childhoods.

During the next DJ set we had to step out into the court yard to cool off. Seriously, Disney dance music is so tiring! But when we went back in we noticed Drop Kuma a.k.a Pedo Bear was DJing.

Following that was Lacehunter busting out some Anime Anthems. The girls and I rocked out to the Pokemon theme song, the Melancholy of Haurhi Suzumiya's Hare Hare Yukai, Sailor Moon and more. It was a great set!

Kenaz was the last DJ we heard because by this point we were pooped out. We thrashed about to Portal 2, the Zelda theme song and Mortal Kombat. Remixing gaming music - epic.

Here are some pictures we took of the night:

See you at our next event!
