Ok, so I had originally intended to write about an entirely different anime for this one until I noticed this had finally hit the shelves on DVD for Australia. Daily Lives of High School Boys pretty much covers itself in its title, and honestly, the show will point out what it’s about a few times throughout its progression. Yep, it is simply a series of short stories of some guys in high school and the stuff they get up to on a day to day basis. Oh and a little bit of high school girls too (never forget to wait for post credits), ‘cause high school girls are cute and funny no matter what they do, right?

Daily Lives of High School Boys predominantly focuses on our 3 given main characters, Tadakuni, Yoshitake and Hidenori, however, 3 guys will never realistically have enough interesting tales to warrant an entire comedy show that follows them around and feels relatable, so the show very frequently has no focus on those 3 at all. And that’s pretty much it, Daily Lives of High School Boys wants to be an extremely funny and relatable show with, for the most part, realistic feeling characters. Well, except this guy…

Daily Lives of High School Boys delivers its punch lines very effectively, it doesn’t give a damn if you don’t like running jokes and it most certainly pushes up against that forth wall that a few of our more beloved characters love to obliterate. Most importantly, I feel like it has aimed to, and succeeded, in managing to make its viewers laugh a little at themselves, and the stupidity of high schoolers of the opposite gender, or high schoolers in general. As well as little bit of looking back at those times with fondness if you’re not still amongst it all.

All in all, a must see, and here’s hoping we get to see another season. Watch it, drop a comment with your thoughts, and most importantly, don’t skip the end credits. Definitely something you’ll regret missing out on.

Oh, and shout out to the literary girl and possibly the greatest love story in anime history. Peace.
